The Wales Coastal Path passes through Criccieth, and is less than 50 yards from The Abereistedd.
"With the Snowdonia National Park providing a mighty natural backdrop, it is easy to understand why this area is so loved. There is some great walking to be had where you’ll find small fishing villages, estuaries and miles of sandy beaches." A brochure for the walk from Criccieth can be downloaded here
A good website for walks in the area is: - http://www.carfreewalks.org/
Criccieth is on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, and many walks can be found here.
The National Trust also have a series of walks round their properties in North Wales: - Click Here
For a fantastic day out, take the train from Criccieth to Morfa Mawdach, the stop after Barmouth. The rail journey is spectacular, with the track hugging the coast most of the time. From Morfa Mawdach, follow the route of Julia Bradbury's Railway Walk along the Mawdach Estuary.
We have a collection of maps and guides, which is available for our guests to use.
